Cody's Weekly Top 10 - After Atlanta Empty
PostSubject: Cody's Weekly Top 10 - After Atlanta   Cody's Weekly Top 10 - After Atlanta EmptyTue Feb 27, 2024 7:27 am

After two races, there are some key drivers in the lower half of the NASCAR points standings, such as Logano, Keselowski, and Reddick. While I am not going to put much stock on this because the first two races are restrictor plates, it would be unfair to some racers if I didn't take these first two races into account. With that being said, here are my top 10 drivers after week two. if you don't like it, make your own.

*Honorable Mention - Suarez - I know he won a race, but come on
*Off the list  - Logano

10. Wallace (N/A) - Looked who entered the top 10! Bubba is the only driver with a top 5 at Daytona and Atlanta. I understand Bubba is most comfortable at superspeedways, but he did something no other driver could do.
9. Truex Jr. (7) - Truex brought his Toyota to decent finishes at Daytona and Atlanta. He hasn't finished in the top 10 yet, but I expect his to finish in the top 10 at Las Vegas.
8. Chastain (10) - Chastain has a fast Camero, and even though it got him in trouble at Daytona (and Atlanta), he did limp home with a 7th place finish at Atlanta.
7. Bell (5) - Bell got caught up in the lap two scuffle at Atlanta and never recovered. While the Atlanta race hurt him, he did have a good finish at Daytona.
6. Elliott (8.) - Elliott has found a way to finish in the teens in both superspeedways, even though he was caught up in wrecks. This may be too high, but I expect Elliott to have a comeback-type season.
5. Larson (4) - While he didn't have a good finish at Atlanta, Larson was fighting for the lead the entire day until he was involved in a wreck. I don't see Larson falling any lower than 5th. Expect an excellent finish from Las Vegas for the 5 car.
4. Hamlin (2) - Hamlin has had a lackluster first couple of weeks, but he did win the Clash. Hamlin will be fine.
3. K. Busch (6) Busch's RCR Chevy has been a fast hotrod this year. He looks like a man on a mission and is leading in points.
2. Blaney (3) - Blaney had a disappointing Daytona race but finished 2nd by 1-1000 of a second. He is leaving off where he was last year.
1. Byron (1) - Byron won Daytona and salvaged a day at Atlanta. He deserves to stay number 1.
